Notre Dame Men's Rowing is one of the most prestigious, intensely competitive, and deeply rewarding club sports on campus. We are a club in name, but we operate with a varsity mindset. We demand excellence at 5:00 AM, we push our limits on the water, and we forge bonds that last a lifetime. If you want to be part of a fiercely driven community that represents Notre Dame at the highest level of collegiate rowing, you belong in our boats.

For the Experienced Rower: If you have raced in high school, you will find a highly competitive environment designed to refine your technical, physiological, and mental capabilities. We will push you to compete for top seats and chase medals on the national stage.

For the Raw Athlete: Never touched an oar? Most of our top rowers hadn't either before arriving on campus. We actively recruit walk-ons who have the engine, intelligence, and coachability to succeed. If you have the endurance from swimming, the power from basketball, or the sheer work ethic to outwork everyone else in the room, we will teach you the stroke.

For the Tactical Mind (Coxswains): A boat is only as fast as its leader. We actively recruit sharp, competitive leaders—both men and women—to take the helm as coxswains. If you have a highly analytical mind and the commanding presence to execute race plans under intense pressure, we need you in the stern.

Elite Facilities & National Speed

We row out of the state-of-the-art McConnell Family Boathouse, located just 1.5 miles south of campus on a 5,500-meter stretch of sheltered water on the St. Joseph River. You will train on top-tier equipment, including a premium fleet of Empacher and Hudson eights and fours, and a fully equipped indoor ergometer training center.

We don't just row locally. We hunt speed across the country. Our crews regularly compete against the absolute best at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, and we peak our season to race for national titles at the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) National Championships.
